Ignition not switching off (ADU) urgently need help.

Hi guys, need some help from you lot.

Am on holiday at the moment with the rs2, and have strange issue. When I turn off the ignition and remove the key, the engine turns off, but the dashboard instruments remain on. It looks to me like a relay keeps sticking or something. While not near my garage I cannot check the wiring diagrams. so hopefully someone can point me in te right direction. Btw its an intermittend problem.

Also tested the ignition switch. The lights on the dash stays on when i remove the connector on the backside. So that rules out the switch.

I'd have guessed it was the switch sticking, but if you've tested that I can't think what else it would be. It's not a common problem that I've seen on the forum frequently.

On mine avant the climate control and a couple of other things remained on. Turned out to by a short in the loom for the rear boot where it always moves when you open it.

Ok problem came up again. When i pull relais nr 5 it doesnt help. Ignition still stays on. Tried pulling some fuses, and fuse 21 on the main relay board affects the problem. So with that fuse the power is shut of and the car can stll start and stop...

What relay is behind fuse 21? Anyone knows? Thanks

Just pulled relay 324 from the footwell panel, and it smelled a bit burned. So that could be the culprit... Not much i can do about it from here.

The 324 relay is the after-run pump relay and while that might have failed or is failing, it shouldn't have anything to do with your symptoms.

Thanks! The schematics say relay 14, thats relay 812 on the rs2. Relay 13 is the one that smelled burned. Strange.

13 and 14 in this diagram are for the heated seats (probably that 287 in the photo above)

fuse 21 is for the after run system and diagnostic circuits.
