On second look, I think the tools at "1 o'clock" and "3 o'clock") (aka 13:00 and 15:00 should be workable for removing the ECU pins)

After years of standing on my head in the footwells of cars I bought this kit.
Easily removes terminals from electrical connectors and eliminates damage to wires or terminal blocks

I would have bought the Hazet brand ones but the comparable kit was over $1500!
They work as well as any of the factory connector service tools.

A bit late but the pin prj suggested gets pushed into the bottom slot below the female ECU harness pin. There is a "tang" on the pin that is meant to prevent the pin from being pulled out from the back. You use the pin to push the tang up to clear where it catches on the plastic.

I believe the trick is to use a pair of needle nosed pliers from the rear to push the terminal as far forward and then use either the correct tool/needle/bent paperclip to bend the barb back so the terminal will slide out.
That way there is enough room to bend the barb back.

You can carefully disassemble the connector, and after that with some practice it is a very easy job.

I just use a needle. There is a tab you have to push down and on these it is IIRC on one side only.

Goes pretty quickly once you get the hang of it.

started a topic removing ecu pins

    removing ecu pins

Anyone got an easy way of doing this?I have one of those 'special' tools but have never managed to get one out unless I actually use a pair of pliers to tear the actual connector to pieces, which is ok on a scrap loom but not much use on a good car.
