At the moment there is no engine in the ur as the engine bay its being painted along with the car but I'm not struck on the bends from the turbo to maf to filter just like the simple look of just a filter on the end f the turbo .

that set up depends on which exhaust manifold you use....i tryed for the same set up with a wagner tubular but there isnt enough room to have the hks filter on the end of the gt35...this pic must be another manifold....i had to have a 135 degree 4" elbow to take the filter out of the way...was gutted really...The main reason for me to use stand alone ecu is to remove the maf as I didn't want to put bends ect ect off the turbo to the air filter as I want to keep it looking simple like this.

But I'm told the maf can be removed and put on the preasure side out of site .
But in doing so will the car run ok before it's mapped ?
ia glad the fuel debate has gone on as i never thought about it....but then i allways use v power in all my tuned cars...the 95ron fuel doesnt even smell right to start with...
saying this does fuel loose its octane rating over time????ie when the car is stood for long periods of time???
580 hp tune is what i would expect from a gt35,mine is running 503bhp,but my tuner was not fimiliar with vems,i have had more settings added now from people that know the software,i plan to rvisit the rollers in due course
also just noticed on that pic...why the hell is there 10 injectors????????
my first experince with vems only produced nearly 400 bhp with same setup,so knowing the software is keyComment

Pardon my french, but WTF?
I have a few cars with RS4 MAF on pressure side.
Not a fan of putting the stock maf there though, as it isn't designed for it and AFR's are flakey on low loads.
This is also true for at least one MRC tuned car that I've seen with the MAF there.Comment

Right then mate if I use the rs4 maf you recommend will it run ok on the base map so I can run the engine in before a map to unrealise the gt30 ?Comment

Thanks.

I have not bought the ecu yet and the only reason I wanted Vems is to lose the maf, but if you saying that motronic with rs4 maf is an option I will have that and hopefully would cost less then a grand to tune it.
I also have gt35 and both Repos manis.sigpic_________

are you talking motronic or vems map here???
you will need to retain the standard injectors without a proper tune on either
i ran mine in for 1500miles on the stock motronic with a s2 maf on the pressure side, with,at first no boost, then stock boost, either way you will have to be very carefull not to load the car up and no long WOT
i then binned the maf and stock injectors, put in the VEMS,big injectors and went to the rollers for a 12 hour session
on the standard aan/aby config in the VEMS ecu it produced 200 bhp,my tuner dialed in the ve and boost and got 400bhp,with a faulty wastegate, then new w/g was fitted and we got a bit over 500,i now think with some more fine tuning it will make 580 or so,next i am planning bigger fuelingComment

A sorry. Did not know that. I thought you didn't want to map that way

GT35R with 99 RON and 7A cams with strong rods and dropped CR should make 600 bang on. If you are making less than that, something is wrong.are you talking motronic or vems map here???

First make up your mind if you want to run Motronic or VEMS.
If you want to run Motronic, then the RS4 MAF can be on the pressure side, but the car won't run with the RS4 MAF attached.
Further more you are not even going to able to attach it as the connector is different and wiring requires modifications.
So your best bet is to make a spot for the MAF on the pressure side, and until then use the stock MAF in the same location.Comment
