Noisy Bosch 044 Motorsport Fuel Pump

Has anyone got any good ideas on how to quieten this thing down a bit?
It's really quite loud and very noticeable at tick over and low rpm driving.

I guess one way forward would be to dyna matt the rear luggage area?

    Buy a louder exhaust system.

044 users on my side of the pond have used a BMW external fuel pump check valve with good success.

Mine was really loud and that was because it was slightly loose in the tank.
Once we made a special bracket for it and bolted it down properly it was quiet.

        I don't think that's your problem though.

@Aron - yeah that would work.

Trouble is I've only recently managed to quieten down the full 3" system to a normal level. I now need to sort the pump out.

I wonder why/how an additional and external check valve would quieten it down?

@PRJ, I will have another look but seem to recall it was zip tied firmly in place.

Mine was quite loud when I first put it in(mine is inline on a. Typ85 car) I put it down to air in the lines and prefilter as it went away after I let it run for a while.

Zip ties - there is your problem.
Mine was zip tied too by the previous owner(s) of the car.

We took it out, and a friend of mine built a full metal support bracket adapter that bolts into the basket.
After this was done, zero noise inside. Only a very faint noise when you stand outside the by the right rear wheel arch.

No idea how mine is secured but mine is noisy too... not as noisy as yours by the sounds of it - you can hear it on tick over outside the car but inside only if you are paying attention. I think mine is installed with a different cage (?) Drove the car for the 1st time in 3 months this week, can't say I noticed it, so that says either it's not that bad or the exhaust is too lound

On a side note, anything else you did with the exhaust since we last spoke?

I had a noisy one and it became noisy after a long drive or a very hot day. Changed the pump as I thought it wasn't working properly. The noise had gone thereafter.

4" exhaust and solid mounts - well let's say, I think girls will probably love your car because of the good vibrations.
