    Not starting up

Engine back in after being removed started once and ran fine for few seconds then stopped

Went to start again then smoke from under dashboard now can't hear fuel pump operating when ignition on have changed the relay car turns over but not firing up all timing marks fine after I changed the cambelt

Under dash you turn ignition on and relay 206 clicks

    Help !

Are you getting fuel through? Could you have killed the pump?

I'm guessing the smoke from under the dash is not a standard feature
You've probably blown a fuse, I would recheck that it should guide you to the circuit that has the issue, sounds like you have a short

I agree with the above bud. You have probably got something on back to front upon reconnecting... Check what was smoking and check that circuit and I bet that will be your answer....

Not being funny but when you say the engine cut out and no wont start even though it turns over, does it have an immobiliser at all?

Started ! Was the fuse blown on one of the motor fuses

            Now issues are. :

Battery light on charging on vdo is just under 14
Aux gauge oil and oil temp go off scale

Glad you got it going bud.

Battery light is on? Check the alternator and check its wired in properly. Not sure about the VDO being just under 14???

Which way do they go off the scale? To high or to low? If its to low it maybe that the engine needs to run a bit to build up and if it is to high check you do not have any blockages anywhere in the system and that all plugs are connected the correct way around.

Are the connections on the oil sender the wrong way around?

I've checked it all just took for a drive and oil warning on auto check comes on oil is topped up lovely hmmm

The only dodgy looking wire was the oil temp one under the larger oil pressure one it is still connected but I doubt if that is the cause

Well the plot thickens I now have :

                        No speedo
No open doors courtesy lights ( lights if you switch it to permanent)
                        Oil gauge off scale
                        Oil temp off scale
                        Battery light permanently on
Oil warning on auto check bleeps occasionally

But in plus side my under bonnet light has started working !

Drove it home 1 mile and wasn't trying and quick as phook it's still on mrc chips need to install v stream and 3 bar map yet
