No Steve you need a completely new pair of chips, that not only disables the immobiliser buy also gives the power upgrade.

PRJ can supply exactly what you need.

Immo emulator will probably work too, yes.
But it's a bitch to wire up correctly and if something happens to it you will be stranded.

And also, what Tonks said basically.
If the chips you have have immo enabled, then they are useless to you pretty much.

You need a whole new chipset from me (or someone else). One that would have the immo disabled AND the power upgrade, as the choice to enable or disable immo is inside those chips...
To just get the car running you only need the stock non-immo software... but that means no power upgrade.

I have no problem giving the stock software for free or putting it on the chips for minimal cost, but if you want a power upgrade then it will be more expensive...

Can you advise the costs please:

          Option 1
Put stock software on the chips.

          Option 2
Put power upgrade software on chips....or supply new chips etc.

          Thanks,

          Steve

            Inclusive postage and chip costs..
First option 60 EUR, second option 160 EUR

If you have a chip writer and eraser then first option 0 EUR.

OK, I am considering my options as we do have a chip writer at work.

How much would a set of original RS2 chips be worth?

I don't think it would be worth anything besides the cost of the chips, which is about 10 EUR per chip...

27C512 and 87C257 are what you need.
27C512 can be substituted for W27E512 or SST27F512 - these are electrically erasable.

If you have an UV eraser, then you can erase a set of the old chips and overwrite them, you don't have to buy new ones.

We have a UV eraser in the lab and an EPROM programmer.

Please can you send me the file.

Thanks for your help so far.

One last question (I hope), what program is used to open the attached files?

I think give both files inside the zip and two chips to the person who has experience with the chip writer and he will know what to do.

There is not a single doubt with those files of how and what to do if you know what you are doing. Giving instructions with these files is an insult to the intelligence of whoever is going to do the work

That's OK, the person who will be doing this for me is an ex employee of Cern.

One more question as my 'helper' is about to sort this and his question is, which software goes in which EPROM?
