oil pressure + oil temp gauge issues

Got a couple of issues which I just need to clarify

oil bleep on autocheck (god im getting fed up of that bleep!),

The oil temp sensor (the 24mm bottom one) wire has come away from the small spade connector, would this be the reason why the oil check light keeps flashing? Every time you go around corner.

Oil pressure.Recently changed the oil to Mobil 5w 40 and oil pressure on the vdo now reads 1.5,then take on another run its 1.2.I have followed some really good advice and done the factory spec "test" and held the revs when warm at 2k and the oil pressure reads 4.1 everytime, before on the crappy carplan oil it was between 3.8 to 4.1.
I recently swapped over oil pressure and temp switches from a donor engine I had where there were no issues.

So are these 2 issues related? i intend to obviously repair the broken wire and do proper oil pressure test via plumbing in a mechanical gauge into where the switch goes.

    Cheers

you will get the beep at 2000 rpm..iff the single spade oil pressure sensor is not grounded...this means the oil pressure..at that rpm is lower than 1.7 bar..i think...
Are you sure you have the wires right at those 2 sensors?
    BTW...you fixed the alternator?

      hey pirvu....

yes thankyou for your help,i fixed the wiring on the alternator tonight, then went for a test drive....and then these faults started causing me problems

I checked the oil and its on the maximum,no issues there.

here are 2 oil pressure sensors....the big one with 2 connectors..and the single white one.
The white one has to have an white wire..i think..to it with an special rubber cap to suit the shape of the sensor....if the oil pressure gauge is working..then the other 2 are wrong..or the single spade sensor is not the right one...
        Is that white?

I am pretty sure is black..and the beep comes on at 2000 rpm...
The temp has nothing to do with the autocheck btw.

ok so I have the oil pressure sensor (17mm nut behind) with a black and blue sensor, the blue underneath the black one.Oil pressure gauge is working ok.

the oil temp sensor (24mm) has a single white wire going to it,on mine the wire has broken off the spade connector,

Something is really wrong at there..or i dont know how the s2 oil pressure sensors are looking...
You should have on the engine block 2 sensors only...1 big..with 2 connectors and the second white with 1 connector.
The oil temp sensor is at the botom of the oil pump. Is not on the side of the block.
Maibe..insteed of the single big sensor you have an adaptor with other 2 conected..but...this is strange..
You have to fit the white wire at the white sensor...

I wish that UrS4boy is online now to give us the schematics and pictures with those sensors!!!

The white sensor you think is temp sensor..is actualy the one wich is giving you the problems...connect that wire..and the beep will go off.

Yes..that sensor is an pressure sensor..not an temp sensor.
That sensor should be grounded over 1.7 bar.

this is what i think too,but is this in any way connected to the oil pressure reading too?

no...is only linked at the autocheck...
                          but wy you asq this?

i have just realised after searching it is in fact the oil pressure switch.

The larger switch above it is for the gauge reading only.

So if the switch is disconnected would this also cause low oil pressure reading on the oil pressure gauge?

i guess i will only know once i have repaired the wire

No..that switch is only for the autocheck...iff i understand right...you have there 3 sensors.
1 for oil pressure gauge, 1 for the low oil pressure and the white one for the low oil pressure at over 2000 rpm.
The first 2... oem...are incorporated into an single big sensor...
Maibe...the sensor you have for the gauge...is not calibrated for the oem s2 gauge.
                              Makes sense?
Fit that white wire at the white sensor..and check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge...just to be sure.
