    More problems battery light on

Bad enough that my s2 has problems, now the s6 has let me down.driving home last night and the yellow battery light on the autocheck came on,then the ABS light, followed by red brake light, and airbag light.
The car still seemed to run OK,brakes worked fine,so I am guessing it is an alternator problem. would a bad alternater cause these lights to come on ,or am I looking at a more sinister problem.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Alternator

Try cleaning the voltage regulator & slip rings, also check the belt tension.

Most likely cause(s) is either the battery is failing or the alternator is not charging the battery.

Get your battery tested, I had the same issue. Turned out the battery had given up.

Start with the cheapest thing first, a voltage test. Should give you a clear indication.

easy check and easiest job to change battery - I also agree with alex, check the belt - if it's snapped, it may not even be there! (Not sure if the S6 has a seperate belt for alternator )

It is the Alternator, completly shot and cannot be repaired, not bad considering the car has done 222000mls.
Hopefully it will be fixed today.
Many thanks for every ones help
