Avant boot re-wire help

Morning,

It seems that I have cables shorting out where they run between the boot and the roof past the hinge inside the rubber sleeve. My rear wiper and outside tail lights don't work as the fuse keeps blowing. Also every time I shut the boot it sounds like the central locking motor moves.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can replace the cables without cutting up the rubber sleeve?

I had to do this also, I cut the rubber sleeve. Had no reverse lights, rear window de-mister etc. Just did a quick tape up job afterwards. Gonna redo it with solder though

Dismantle connectors and pull wires out from inside. Just be sure to take a photo or write down where each wire was.

Yeah I'm looking at replacing all the wires from behind the lights right through to the car with a nice protected loom but don't really want to cut the rubber if I can help it.

When I did this I pulled the rubber sleeve as far back as I could and pushed it into the car a little bit so it exposed the broken wires. Carried out the repair with solder and wrap and then pulled the rubber sleeve back into its correct place. It is annoyingly fiddly but it works.
