    window passager ....

I would like that the window passenger is like that conductive, that it goes up all alone and that one is not obliged to maintain the button ... if somebody has information on the electric connection, thank you .

    Hi Phil,

Not too sure about this... maybe... all S2 passenger side windows don't close on their own with just one touch of the button? anyone????

I do remember that there was a 'procedure' for making the windows one touch close from Audi. When I had an A4, the battery was disconnected for some reason, and the windows didn't one touch close anymore. The technician did this 'procedure' and both windows one touch closed again. I cannot remeber what he did though....

I *think* that he unlocked the car, left the drivers side door open, turned on the ignition, then opened the window fully, then closed the window fully. I **think** that was how he did it....

Ben, can you ask your tech's how to re-program the one touch close please and post the answer here please?

The one touch feature is built into the control unit for the windows and sunroof. It's only fitted to the drivers side window.

I'm toying with using two control units to get one touch on both windows or trying to use the S4(A100 shape) control unit as they have total closure and one touch on both front windows (I think).

I still haven't sorted mine as it only 'one touches' going down not up. From the Fault Finding Binder I've discovered the one touch up only works if the control unit recieves a feed from the alternator (indicating the engine is running) so it's back under the dash I go again.

A4's and all modern Audis and VWs use a central convenience system which allows programming of most functions, hence the one touch can be turned on and off, along with how the locks work etc.

This one touch issue was discussed sometime back in the mists of time.
It seems that the early coupes have one touch up AND down drivers windows whereas the ABY (Coupe and Avant) only have one touch down.

Do I remember right different relays or something?

The control unit did change from model year 94 chassis number 8C-R-030001> for Avants and 8B-R-000001> for Coupes so that would explain why early models have the one touch close feature.

In the fault finding it does advise caution when operating the one touch close as there is no roll back feature. Could be they removed it for that reason.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't use a second control unit to give one touch on the passenger window. I'm also interested in the cabrio one button for all windows open setup for those hot days. Black leather and sunshine don't mix.

I do want total closure though and I'm sure I can do it cheaper with factory parts than the £150 my alarm fitter wants for it. I need to get hold of the A100 94> circuit diagrams for the windows and sunroof and I'd rather not buy another complete binder though. If any ones got them 'lying around' then a copy would be great.

I'm sure mine has one touch up and down and it's a '95 ABY but there are that any wee gimmicks on my car I'm not sure if the previous owner changed them

One touch up window switches were discontinued in the early 90s due to a child fatality in (I think) a VW. My 95 coupe is one touch down - drivers side only. James
