I've searched the archive but cannot find this problem. Please help.
Came out to the car (S2 coupe ABY with Autowatch cat 1 remote ) this AM to find drivers door lock button up. It will not lock using remote. Pump noise evident and passenger/boot locks working ok. Inside the car if the button is manually pushed down it will come up when remote used to unlock the car and moves downward fractionally when trying to lock it. Manually pushing the drivers door button down activates the central locking. I am getting round this by leaning in from passenger side to manually lock the door from the inside, shutting passenger door and double pressing the remote to get the correct alarm light pattern on the dash. Ignition key will not work from the outside.
I assume it is either a vacuum hose leak or the actuator is at fault (?) Does it make sense that the button comes up when unlocking but wont go down when locking ?
