Help! Rs2 windows and sunroof have packed in

Hi, the power windows and sunroof on my 1994 RS2 have stopped working, sometimes they work intermittantly, today the sunroof stopped in the half open position,
Any ideas as to the location of the power window control module??

Not sure if it is the 287 in this photo or not. I had the photo because of the 324 after-run pump relay as documented here:

I opened up the relay casing, and all looks good, I'm wondering if it's something to do with the factory alarm, as I'm sure the alarm has control of the windows ??

thermal fuse is worth a check too. It looks like this:


Not sure on the exact position in the RS2 but it should be around the aux relay panel.

Do check the relay thoroughly for dry joints as they can be hard to spot sometimes

Dry joints? Never heard of them
Both 30 amp fuses have continuity on a multimeter

Looks like the 287 is PN 443959257B in positions 5 and 6 - control unit for electric windows and sliding roof operation "8 sec". (??!)

Should be 287 or 364 (I think). Mine is 364 number. Take it to an auto electrician who knows what he's doing. Mine had dry joints. Works fine now!

I,ve had this prob on a coupe and my s2 avant.My mate found a hair line crack in a solder joint.Resolderd all the joints .Good as new.If i recall Audi wanted over £200 for this relay
