Help me open an A4 (B5) boot!

Not strictly electrical but seems to be the right place to post.

I'm hoping someone here can offer some advice on this issue. Basically I need in the boot of an A4 (B5) so I can get at the CL pump (which has packed in).

CL pump is knackered and barrel on the boot is seized solid, is there any way to release the catch from in the boot? The doors do tilt forward so I can physically wriggle into the boot. Is it possible to get at the CL pump whilst the boot is still closed and activate the catch somehow? Anyone got any recommendations, preferably with out breaking something!

I assume that with the pump working, the boot unlocks?

Under the back seat you should see some green pipes. You could try blowing some air down the pipe. It may work. Else, fold the seats down and you can get into the boot and and try to find the pipe that serves the boot lock and try the same thing. You should also be able to get the pump out (low pressure) or the boot lid cover off so that you can manipulate the lock manually.

doors or seats?

if the seats tilt forward then just go into the boot and either remove the panel on the boot if you can get to all the screws and pull the 2x rods to release the boot or even unbolt the actual lock and open the boot that way.

Or remove the cl pump and speak with spink on here as he will be able to sort it out for you.

Mine went the other day, luckily mine is avant.
Your only bet is to either hope that you can unlock it with the key (not possible in mine, seized completely) or fold the rear seats down.

Thanks for the replies guys, didn't have email notification on so didn't notice them.

Yea I got into the boot and took the panel off, popped the boot no bother. Got the barrel out and stripped it yesterday, its pretty knackered, even with the key plates out it doesn't turn properly. But will hopefully order up parts for the tomorrow.

The CL isn't responding on the car, can anyone help me with diagnosing why, where do you start? It's a setup I've not seen before, seems to be only two pipes going out of the pump then three multi plugs. Boot is a solenoid to release so not every door is air opened I'm guessing?
