My heated rear window has stopped working, every time I replace the 30amp fuse it keeps blowing
Where is the first place I should look to rectify this ?
Should I start with the bit of loom between tailgate and body ?
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2
Try a new fuse again with the tailgate open. If it doesn't blow you know where your problem is. This has helped identify the problem on 2 of my previous Audis.
Yes, Most likely suspect. Try replacing the fuse with the hatch up to see if the fuse blows when you move the tailgate to the closed position.
HTH, Chris
Had another little look at this today.
Pulled out the grommet and exposed a bit more of the loom linking tailgate to body.
I seen an earlier codge on one of the wires that I soldered and shrink wrapped and all (5 I think) the wires look good with no splits etc.
The previous repair I did was to the thickest of the wires which got my rear wiper working.
So the next question is roughly 'how much' will this cost to fix at an auto electrician ?
Has anyone ever stripped out and replaced the whole lot of the tailgate loom ?
My previous repair has lasted over 3 years but now is the time to do it all properly me thinks

I have this problem now, I fit a new fuse and its ok with the tailgate open but when closed it pops. Presuming from the above replies its a wiring problem where the wiring gets folded for the tailgate??

Dismantled the boot and dragged the loom through so I could get to the bad bits. Cut the broken bits out and soldered the wires back together along with some heatshrink sleeve. Job done! Took about an hour
