Window relay 363 and 287 differences

Just going through my spares and noticed a 287 relay this came from an avant, all other savants I've seen have a 363 relay, so what's the difference ?

    Cheers

"287" and "363" aren't very searchable. Can you post their respective PNs? Might be able to find out that the 287 was dropped and when in favour of the 363.

    FYI, for a C4 UrS4/early S6, the window control module is a 329, PN 441959257B

Also from memory this relay came out of a non sunroof avant, I was hoping it would be a relay that gives you one touch elec windows up and down

I am pretty sure that you are dreaming. Those "relays" only came in in around 1996/7 IIRC, e.g. in 1996 model year UrS6 (built after July 95), the 329 disappears with the window control distributed to the individual window motors. Window function is programmed with VAG-Com or the like.

363 has one touch up drivers window, 287 doesn't. Also there were some differences in wiring.

343 is also electric window relay. Came from an Avant with 4 el. windows, has 1TU and connector for el. sunroof.

343 (441959257C) has one touch up and down, but there is a difference with the door switch wiring that i couldn't get my head around. Basically i couldn't get it to see the door open/close so it never turns off when you lock the car leaving the switches operational all the time.

One of them, 343 or 287 had wires on both, drivers and passengers doors.
                        Well I have short memory
Wiring loom from 343 has white 2 pin connector in drivers footwell. Connector has two wires - brown/yellow (?) and blue. Brown/yellow goes to drivers door contact switch, blue goes to alternator.

I am really having deja vu all over again on this:

The "343" PN 441959257C was an electric window and sliding roof operation control module (NOT a relay). It was dropped (no date given) in favour of a 441959257A.

                            441959257A was dropped on June 30, 1992 in favour of a 441959257D

441959257D was in the Audi80Q up to VIN 8C-P-300000 in positions 5+6 in the under dash relay panel. There is also an "8 Sec." notation. Then there is some confusion around VIN 8C-R000001 and/or R 030000, when a 443959257B comes into play.

To add to the confusion, there is a 441959257B which is the UrS4/early UrS6 "329" sunroof/window control module, auto down, key in drivers door can be used to close ALL the windows and the sunroof if held to the LOCK position until all the windows are up and the sunroof is closed.

The 443959257B is described as being for the "front" (nothing about front and rear) whereas the 441959257B is described as being for the "front and rear". This might make sense since I remember a European 1993 C4 avant in a wrecking yard here that had electric windows for the front seats but manual roll-up/downs for the rear seats.

Semantics, its a box with relays inside it so lets just call it a relay

443959257B came out of a 94 Avant, one touch down but not up. 441959257C is off an earlier car with one touch up and down, not sure what model as it was in my spares pile, could possibly be a 100/s4. Its of a 92/early 93 vintage.

Internally the C module has another relay and logic board, which i assume controls the one touch up function as it only works with the ignition on. I'll revisit it someday when i'm in the mood to play with wiring diagrams and get it working 100%. Main thread on the subject is here http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ighlight=relay

Unfortunately i didnt take any pics of the top so cant say what numbers were written on them.
