    Optima Battery question

I'm looking into these as I keep needing a bettery due to occasional standstill with no use and bad weather wearing the battery off. Last time I checked I had was than 1amp drain from my meter on locked and alarm on position. I need to recheck that to see if there is something wrong. I have also renewed 3 years ago my alternator so it seems to be in good nick.

Regardless of the above and for the above reasons I thought of fitting an optima battery but I'm torn as to which one I need.

    1) only red top are reversed to the spec I usually get from bosch or varta. They have a very good starting amp and moderate ah.

    2) yellow top are according to their description more suitable for my needs but the one I would need seems to only come as non reversed pole fitment and I'm afraid it may not reach to fit properly.

Has anyone fitted a yellow top the other way around to see if the clips reach adequatelly the poles?

I may end up having to buy one to test fit and be charged the courier to return it if it doesn't fit as there are no shops close by to go and have it test fitted it.

Also anyone who has tried either red or yellow, what do you recommend ?

Here is the link to the yellow I'm looking for.

I wouldn't recommend them, I used to have a yellow top and I could kill it the same way as a normal battery only difference was it would recharge , you'd be better off buying a ctek battery conditioner

Read a bit about them. I think a mx7 cremains should do the trick.

MX7 is overkill, I have this one and it's more than up to the job

YOU HAVE A 1 AMP DRAIN??!!
That's about 20 times what it should be! It should be 30 -50 milliamps.

Sorry there was a word missing from that sentence. I meant to say less than 1 amp but from memory now when I had the led installed it was reading something in 0.08amp so it was ok. A few things have been done since then and I'm not sure if something had gone wrong so I need to recheck things

This will solve the parasitic drain problem - no matter how severe it is. Guaranteed!

If I were to cut the battery feed I could easily unplug one pole everytime I wasn't using the car for a length of time.

Even the ctek thing is a nuisance to use where I live as I don't have a plug nearby to keep it plugged in. I would need a long wire to keep it connected and I don't know if the residence area would allow it.
