  • All Dashlights Failed

any clues on this one, guys?

took my car out the other night & no dashlights at all. Main dash and auxiliary gauges all not working. (Warning lights still worked). Checked the no. 12 fuse (15 amp) & okay. Dimmer knob made no difference either.

All bulbs were replaced 2 months ago.

Where shall I look next for faults? It's no fun driving in the dark not knowing your speed!!

Try removing the bulb holder/switch assy from glove box(this is part of the same cicuit), this sometimes can go short circuit. Also check a 5A fuse, I think it might be no. 11 or 15, though I can't be sure. The fuse box will help identify the one you need to check/replace.

When mine wasn't working it was the dimmer rheostat which failed - see here

thanks guys - had another look today - this time in daylight.

the fuse for the instrument cluster lights is no. 14 - 5A.

Also checked the glovebox light - bulb had blown & switch didn't work, meaning light used to be on whether glovebox shut or not.

All sorted now.............except airbag light - I guess it needs resetting after I removed fuse no. 12 which I guess covers dash warning lights..

ready for the next problem now.................
