You can change the style the forum displays by selecting your preferred style at the bottom left of the site.
We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
Thanks Newsh. I'm assuming that they must have soldered as well as crimped that area. Looks like a butt slice joint and since all other cable connections are soldered this one should be as well.
I will document with photos the old cable and see if it is upgradable. You are right the thinner cable is heat resistant. Says on it 200C
