    Engine earth point

Does anyone have pics or know which part of the body the motor gets the ground potential from? And is it just the one to the block, and/or head?

Sorry this is not an ABY in a B4 or B3 chassis but for the AAN in the C4 chassis, the ground strap goes from the right side unibody frame horn to the right side engine mounting bracket. For the AAN this is a black plastic covered cable, just visible between the exhaust manifold and the turbo in this photo (I would presume the ABY to be similar):

I've done mine from one of the bell housing bolts to the ABS bracket. The head also has earths in the engine harness IIRC.
Don't think it matters as long as its a good contact and a decent cored cable

        Cheers gents.

I just remember seeing two small threaded tabs fixed in these locations (one of them on the ABS bracket) that looked like grounding points. I'd rather use them if I can instead of rubbing back new paint eleswhere

I used a battery cable between one on the engine mounting bolts on the chassis to one of the engine mounting bolts on the block. Makes for a short heavy duty cable that is out off sight.

Which is essentially what the factory uses.
