    VCDS issue

Hello I have 2 VCDS systems, one genuine and one is the free VCDS lite downloaded off rosstech's site. (not a clone)

The problem is with the VCDS lite, I have it downloaded onto a cheap old laptop and it is usually left in the boot just for basic code reading.

It was working great since I got it about a year back, but today when I plug it into my 2+2 lead, the light will not work on the cable and a message comes up saying it does not recognise the car, tried it on a few cars still the same.

Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it easily? Its not with the VCDS lite itself, its the cable.

Not too pushed as it is only a cheap cable but it is very handy to have

Is possible you put the black plug( power supply ) 180 degrees off so you reverted the polarity. Can be fixed .
OR did you put the interface in a Obd socket? See if it works

Yep I tried it in an obd port, no luck.

They have a male/female fitting so to speak, they will only connect the one way, although the k and l plugs are the same plug as the negative and positive. I know what you mean though

I 'm sorry to dissapoint you but you don't. I was trying to say that you put the black connector of the adapter the other way around . I know at least 4 people who did it and is possible 101%

Yeah that's what I knew you were saying ha ha

No I have them in the right way alright !

When it wouldn't work on a obd connection that was the conclusion that the lead is at fault

Conclusion : the interface needs repairing . I cannot gurantee that will be fixable but at least you can try it.
