My brother used to have a mk1 1300 driver which was on eibachs. It was great fun car. We turned up to buy it in my early beetle a d the guy kept trying to buy that off me however it wasnt for sale.
My mates mum has a mk3 gti which needs a complete new rear quarter due to a rusty arch... The plastic trim hides the rust but traps water...
Turns out to be a damaged rotor arm (cracked and discoloured) suggesting that the spark was travelling to places it shouldn't be.
Solution will be a new rotor arm and cap plus a fresh set of HT leads and new spark plugs (think they're knackered) so hopefully that will do the trick.
