Hints/tips/guide for replacing airbag slip ring?

I've got intermittent/sporadic high resistance airbag fault and suspect the slip ring. Has anyone replaced theirs and got any hints/tips/guide/btdt?

    Thanks in advance

    Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Not sure what the slip ring is but 99.9 % of airbag faults are the wires or connections, the module is probably fine.
Intermittent high resistance defo sounds like connection.

Yes. The slip ring, also known as rotary coupling amongst other things, is the main bit that connects the rest of the wiring to the ever moving steering wheel. See these pictures (link) for more info. It's not unusual for them to "go", resulting in broken connections and high resistance faults. The airbag module is unaffected and agreed, probably fine. Sadly it is now an MOT failure (airbag warning light staying on), so needs sorting, and replacing the slip ring is the most likely candidate (aside from just taking the airbag warning bulb out ).
