Central locking has packed in - now I can't open the fuel flap!

So a week or two ago my central locking packed in. I wasn't that bothered because the front passenger door was tempramental anyway so I was already used to unlocking that from the inside. But it didn't occur to me until I got to the petrol station today that this has left my fuel flap in the locked position

I've got about 1/8 left in the tank so it's not desperate yet. Is there a common fault with the central locking that I can easily (I mean really easily as I am worse than useless with electrics) put right? Failing that is there any mechanical way of releasing it? Either through moving the locking pin back or purely dismantling the flap from the inside...

    Any help will be appreciated

Same thing happened to me with the S6 - turned out that the central locking pump had died, fortunately I had a spare to swap in.

I think it's pretty straightforward to open the filler cap from the inside, just not sure how much panelling you have to remove in the S2.

Look in the owner's handbook, it describes how to open the fuel filler flap in exactly this situation.

Umm, unfortunately there could be breaks in the wires in the door hinge areas causing this. There is also the chances of the pump having packed in. Unfortunately it is a case of testing the circuits to figure out which means you may need an auto electrician if you are as bad as you say. Luckily mine never packed in and left me unable to get the petrol flap open so I cant help there.

I did however have central locking issues which myself and a mate managed to fix with one of those screwdrivers that lit up and testing wires and then finding the break causing my issue. Good luck is all I will say. We had trims off and all sorts.

Thanks guys. I'm going to start with looking through the owners' manual, then the pliers, then crying on the floor

Sorted it! The manual tells you to pull on the actuation rod when you open that panel in the boot where the rear screen wash bottle sits. I wasn't having any luck then tried with my right hand - it's in a reet bloody awkward position and it seems logical to use your left hand at first!!! Anyway, now I can go fill up with delicious petrol. THanks for the help guys
