Winscreen motor are they the same

I have had a problem with my windscreen wipers on mega go slow and I have been told its the motor on the way out. I can get one from a final addition cabriolet, but are they the same. Also how much of a job is it.

Easy swap, but you may be able to disassemble the one you have, clean out all the old grease from the gearbox and the wiper spindles and reassemble, takes about an hour and a half all-in.

I have just diagnosed it as a blown motor so sadly regreasing will not help.

Was that a confirmation that the final addition cabriolet motor will work? It's a bit of a trek so don't want to make an unnecessary journey.

What age/what is your car?

Just checked, my 1991 CQ20V uses same motor as a 2000 Cabriolet, P/N 8G2955113 for RHD vehicles.

While you have it out, disassemble the wiper spindles, clean and regrease, maybe then you won't blow up this motor

All fixed now: thumbs: I bought a complete assembly from a scrapyard. Cleaned and lubricated it. Refitted and it works like new. many thanks for all the advice: thumbs:

does anyone know if some wipermotor from a bigger car like an a8 or q7 would fit?
the wipermotor of the b4 is pretty weak above 130kph...
