    Car wont start

    Hi

    I am S2 Rep for Club Audi (UK). One of our members is having a problem. He gets no ignition lights, the car cranks over ok but there is no spark. All other electrics are ok.

    Anyone have any ideas what this might be.

      3B or ABY?

      Check the hall-sender (ABY: behind cam wheel, 3B in dizzy)...
      3B might have a broken dizzy wheel also.

      And lots of other options, surely

          Need more info on car age etc etc, what engine type? Is there an aftermarket alarm/immo on the car?

          Could be allsorts causing no spark. But im sure between a few us we can sort it out.

          Did you say no dash lights, like ABS light+battery light.

          Does the rev counter needle flicker when cranking it?

              Yeah Lyndon tell us more about the car and engine type...

              Fault codes ?

              If its not something silly like a fuse or faulty connect, then the hall sensor (G40) is a good candidate if the car is not sparking.

                      Hi again

                      I have just had a call from our member and he has fixed the problem.

                      Turned out to be a wiring fault in his imobiliser. So car is all up and running again.

                      Also turned out to be a normal 2.2 Coupe, not an S2. But hey, a coupe with a problem is a coupe with a problem.

                      So thanks for all your replies.
