    Factory Alarm behavior

I have a 95 RS2 with factory installed alarm. Recently after the car was parked under the rain for a few days, when I turn the key to start the car, the starter crank, but it does seem to have any fuel going to the injectors. Fuel gauge also show empty even though the tank is more than 3/4 filled. I wonder if the rain has affected the alarm. I always use the factory key and sometimes use a self made key. Both never trigger the alarm. And in the past if alarm comes on, I just go to the passenger side and lock the car and open again to turn off alarm.
Can anyone tell me the behavior when starting the car with alarm on ? Thanks

Sounds like bad connection on fuel pump/level sender above fuel tank.

I was recently testing the factory alarm in my 93 S4 and with the alarm activated, there is NO (zero, nada, nicht, none) cranking. Nothing. Just beeping of the alarm horn. This is because the alarm system uses a J226 (RS2) (J219 on UrS4/S6s) starter interlock relay that is triggered by the V94 central locking/alarm control module. So your issue is not the alarm.

Many thanks guys. In conclusion, the effect of an armed alarm will be no juice going to the starter at all, so there will not be any cranking. My issue, then, is likely to be a failed fuel pump.
