Trying to my car ready for m.o.t tomorrow but having trouble with an electrical problem. Everyrime I put it in reverse is blows fuse number 12 under scuttle, so I loose all dash lights etc. I've unplugged the rear light clusters but its made no differene. Any ideas wouldn't normally ask just running out of time!
Easy fix maybe unplug the reverse light switch on the gearbox, I don't think reverse lights are an MOT requirement?
The reverse light switch wiring goes through one of the black 8 pin connectors on the bulkhead and then through to the fuse board as part of the main engine harness.
The wiring to the reverse light switch may be damaged where it is clipped to the gearbox or elsewhere, or the switch itself might be shorting to the gearbox casing.
