    Cooling fan question

Have an odd thing happening lately.
Any time the air control system is set to blow some air (air-con off), at any fan speed and any temp setting (from low to high and in between) main radiator fan turns on. And this happens no matter if the engine is cold or hot.
Only if I switch the inside venting off, then the radiator fan turns off as well.

Guess some relay somewhere sticked closed..... ? But which one and where?

    Thanks

hmm.... you guys get that lovely fully climate controlled AC which we don't so its not often we'll ever get to play with the system you have.

A relay to check would be in position number 6 in the engine bay board. Its a 35 amp relay and the current part numebr is 8D0 951 253A. This relay should be identical to relay number 11 so you can swap about to 'test' them.

The Climate AC main relay is under the dash in position number 4 (middle row of relays 3rd across from the left) The relay for fan speed number 1 (which also does the electric water pump) is number 12 (bottom row last on the right) on some S2's this relay is in a different place under the dash, it could also be in position 14 top row 2nd across from the left).

Not only could it be teh relay sticking, but I guess it could also be the main AC ON/OFF button sticking maybe....

wow! I was about to post the same problem when found this thread...
Since here in Lisbon I dont know anyone with an rs2 I was almost convinced that this issue was normal.
My RS2 fan, turn on like a low speed mode, when I turn my heater on. I am refering to, when pressing the cooler [ * ] symbol off (so I turn the AC off) and set the heat for ex: 26C, It was expected to the fan be off, since no cooling is needed, the fan stays always on, only gets off if I turn the vent speed off - so turning the heat off.
