What's this button for?

Hi guys,

Not too sure where to put this question exactly, so sorry if I'm in the wrong section!

I have a small black button under my steering wheel, in the top right of that small compartment. I'm not sure what it does, and when pressed, I can't seem to notice what it does either. If I remember rightly (last time I was under the dash) the cables coming off it are white and black, although don't quote me on this.

Any ideas what it's for?

Its not OEM, you'll need to trace the wires to see where it goes

The car does have an immobiliser with alarm, could it be to do with this possibly?

I had a toggle like that in almost the same position in my avant with a black and white wire and something else coming off of it. It was snipped in the end after tracing wires .... they went nowhere as someone had cut them before and left them there. I pulled them all out... along with the wiring for about 3 different aftermarket alarms. Car feels so much lighter and faster since!!! (yes im joking )
