Central locking and ignition barrel help needed

2 questions here if anyone can help,

    1) I broke the ignition key in my b4 saloon daily driver. Ignition is currently stuck in the ignition setting and will start with the butt of the key that's left.
I have another 80 here for breaking with 1 key to fit all locks, can anyone tell me how easy, if at all possible, to replace the ignition barrel?? A guide would be great!

    2) The central locking will lock all the doors together no problem but will only unlock one by one.
I guess I can rule out the vacuum pipes as they all lock but possibly a pump problem if they wont all unlock together?

    Thanks for the help

Probably easier to swap the upper part of the column than just the barrel from previous experience

What year is it?as you will have to reset the immobiliser if it's a 95/96

I didn't break my key off but my ignition went faulty. I didn't want to have 2 keys so did a bit of research and found you could swap the ignition barrel. You drill a whole in a certain place and it will come out. It might not be any good for you tho if your key is stuck in the barrel. I will try and find the link (it is on this forum)

Doesn't the steering lock part have some kind of security bolt holding it to the column?

is the scrap car a 95/96 car also?as barrels are specific to immobiliser/non immobiliser due to the coil reader being part of the barrel
