    Hi again.

I have already answered that I did not know.

The only idea i can come up with that I have a similar 2 pin connector on the side panel trim, position 18 http://www.partsbase.org/audi/audi-2...aud-443863201c
IIRC drivers side. but it was 2-> 2 pin connector that looked similar. Strangely it is mounted on the kick/panel trim.
I may go and pick my car today from the parking spot to my appartment for the weekend, not sure yet, but if I do, I will remove the panel. I cant really remember.

Where does the wire go? If it goes from radio circuit, ir may be related to pin 5, switched +12V (based on white wires) resulting in enabling bose amp relay and/or automatic antenna.

I seem to be right, that must be for automatic antenna,

look at T2a, in the diagram it looks like T2u
White wire is for on/off signal, while red wire is for constrant +12 as aut, antenna needs both. I do actually have automatic antenna in my car so i should have this connector as well. It is just that mine must have all 4 wires, as antenna is installed and functioning.

        OK, I see.

For what I know, my car doesn´t have an antenna other than ( I think ) the defrost lines in the back.
But, if the original Delta Bose had also 2 antennas like the Gamma Bose, I wonder where the"other antenna" should be.
The windshield looks pretty much original, and since I have the windscreen antenna on my 200 10V and it is easy to see, on my 200 20V I don´t see an antenna.

Where do you have your automatic antenna? Which pannel?

        Thanks

It could just as well be for powering defrost line antenna - i know that newer models had this option where it had antenna amplifier.

Based on US spec bose system with 2 antennas, they do have amplifiers. Not sure where are those located in though.
http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=46119 the third, last picture in the first post, try not to break your neck.
I guess it is powered the same way as automatic antenna is, white wire, +12v swiched signal

My car has only one antenna, a normal areal, not a defrost line thing. It is located in the rear left panel/fender. I will try to find a picture and update the post.
          Edit, here:
you can see the antenna itself in this post: http://www.audiklubas.com/forumas/fo...0/?msg=1574733
because I had to change it in 2014 after multiple failures of previous.
And i have attached a picure where you can see the little nipple of the antenna in the rear left fender as I was not able to find a picture with extended antenna.

            Hey guys.
Ok, so yesterday evenning I spent some quality time at the mechanics and in fact, domas, even if it looks very bad, the cable-to-pinout on top connector is OK.

So, what we are going to do, is resolder, heat shrink everything and make it cleaner.

So, at this stage, eveyrthing should be fine.....BUT it isn´t

I have the "safe" always on on the new installed Gamma Bose. I press FM1 + AM and nothing, I press FM1 + DX and nothing happens.......So I have a big issue with that.
It seems that if left on for one hour, you cn re enter the code, but I am suspicious about that, since in the first place, I can´t even enter the code

"safe" will just not desappear.......I don´t know if the radio has some kinf of bigger problem or I am doing something wrong, but we just can´t get to enter the code.

So, I will be trying to get another radio to test. This is going to be diffcult, but I really need to test the system....Or even, I will buy one ( perfectly working this time of course) with code, or I´ll think of something. But it is really a pity to come up to this point and not been able to listen to the remanufactured speakers with Bose sound!!!!

Anyhow, I´ll keep you posted. I´ll open a thread in the marketplace to see what´s out there. It is a shame because the Gamma Bose I have is in extremely good shape....We´ll see.

But one thing that struck me about the radio is the following:
When the radio is hooked up, there is a little light ( red) on the radio panel blinking ( as an alarm).....OK, so that light blinks whenever the radio is OFF and there is no ignition.....So basically, when the car is parked, which is OK.

But, when the ignition is ON ( with or without starting the car), the little light continues to blink until the radio is turned on. Is this suppose to be this way?

I think the logical thing would be having the little light blinking UNTIL having ignition ON, as if you are driving with the radio OFF, it´ll blink........
And is one of the wiring questions the mechanic and I were talking yesterday. Why does the 2 red cables go to the same pin? These are constant 12V and the other is 12V under ignition.......Why do they go to the same place?
Illumination is fine: only the panel illuminates when radio on and all the rest illuminates with headlights on.......

            Cheers

The red blinking light is the radio telling potential theives that it is a coded radio and stealing it would be a waste of time to the thief.

                Hey Urs4 Boy...
Yeah, this is logical, but what about when driving with the radio off......as it is, iit is still blinking and I am not too sure it should be that way.....

                Strange, no?

And about the antena, domas, my car doesn´t seem to had had that antena......By the way, it is the same antenna mounted on my '90 Golf GTI. Is just that mine is black mast and this one is not painted.....It´s very nice though....

                    Hi

Re cables: yes of course they must be fine for the time being, but ultimately they have to be soldered and heatshrinked as we do not want fire in your car. : )

                    Re safe:
if you enter the wrong code twice, your radio is getting locked out for 1 hour. I.e. - you are not even allowed to try to enter the code. And 1 lock is only counting when the radio is ON. So it could still be the case. Try to keep it on for 1 hour.

Re blinking LED: really no idea when it is supposed to be blinking. Just test the radio with 1 hour on.

Re testing of bose: you can use any other kind of lineouts really. I am using becker traffic rapo radio in my car.

You can use anything that has line level pinouts. You will need to build and adapter though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ISO-10-pol-L...item5d4f7e1238
                    this connector with yellow connector

Re +12V: not so sure really. I wasn't aware that one of them was switched +12. But this radio is not really able to use switched signal, as the volume knob has a hard clicky on button, so it cannot really be overridden with ignition on/off control I guess.
The wires are quite thin, so 2 wires can transfer more amps i guess?
Else, I was really sure according to diagrams that one of them was return wire to automatic / windshield antenna. Are you sure it is not the case?

                      I like it as well.

But this is hirchmann antenna, it is kind of universal, and you can also get is with black mast.

Remind me of this in a few days.....Just in case.
