    High level brake light

Hi, i will be emmigrating to OZ soon and taking the S2 with me, one of the requirements for the car is to have a hi-level rear brake light. As the S2 was imported into OZ i figured they must have made an OEM one. So after trawling through ETKA i found the details, but they are not very clear. (i dont know how to save the picture of ETKA) This is the reference to the drawing : ACOQ 94 9 45 945-60. If anyone could help me to suss out what i need i would be most appreciative.
Then i will get them ordered and fitted.

    You'll need:

    895 945 121 P21 Housing with bulb holder @ 31.18 + VAT

    895 945 122 Additional brake light @ 37.14 + VAT

    165 945 170 Retaining piece (x2) @ 2.66 + VAT each

    N 903 605 01 Bulb (x16) @ 0.75 + VAT each (these appear to be standard 2.1w illumination bulbs)

    191 906 231 A Connector housing @ 1.19 + VAT

    000 979 231 A Repair wire with connectors @ 1.19 + VAT

    You'll also need:

    443 919 471 B Relay for check package for models with additional brakelight @ 46.88 + VAT

    and some appropriate wiring.

I haven't got schematics for the coupe so I don't where it wires in but I would assume it is just connected the the back of one of the taillights.

    HTH,

Thankyou for the details and part numbers, i will do some searching.

Graham, nick one from a y reg metro or stick an old fog lamp in the back window. You would have to ignore the autocheck or maybe fit a relay to power it. leave the pensioner who owns it behind...

        Sensible suggestion

go to oz and look for a coupe ina scrapyard and nick their rear light.

I have had a chat with KarlbluS2 and apparently i wont find one in a scrappy over there as there was only 25 S2's imported and no other coupes. I wonder though if anyone in America could help as i think they got them and they got plenty of coupe's, if anyone can help i will make it worth their while

Get the bulbs elsewhere, forget the connectors and the autocheck thingy. Just take the feed before the autocheck control unit (behind the spare wheel inside the trim of course) and not from the rear cluster.
Just get the 3 first mentioned as original parts and the rest elsewhere.

Hmm... Could you be more precise where this is? I mean that I should go on the cables. There is a pretty massive connector behind there that is red. Is it that one you mean?

I mounted the high lever brake light and I connected it to the cluster with all the lights. Works fine but I can not live with the auto check "brems licht" warning.

Wen connected I loose one voltage over the brake light + and earth and guess that's enough to trigger the autocheck.

On the electric diagram it says that there is supposed to be a black 2 pin connector to the left at the back. But I do not have that one. Guess it's only there if you have this brake light from factory.

/NEO - I have a sexual thing for big brakes.
