  • S6 Alarm/central locking issues

It originall started as a water issue around the central locking pump but sorted that by drying everything out.
The car is fitted with a dealer supplied after market alarm/immobilsor system that is of unknown identity, it also only has the workshop key, the key's with the factory immobilisor are missing (though I am about to look to see if they are available).
What happen's is you go to unlock the car with the fob and the hazards flash as usual the car goes to unlock and then immediately locks itself again, you then need to unlock the car with the key in the door to gain entry.
I believe the factory immobilsor has been disabled but how I do not know and the button on the drivers door to lock all the doors from the inside is not working.
Every function on the car works as it should.

Any ideas before I completly remove this bl**dy thing.

get rid of the aftermarket installation and use schematics (and immo information) from Bentley manuals to rectify this - its all in the book - just I didn't bring that one with me to Baschurch !

Sounds like faulty vaacum pump controller. Or just vaacum leak somewhere.

I've seen personally very strange effect. When your pump starts to behave like that, just interchange it with some other guy who has a car which has same model pump. Two times in my life seen such thing, and both times it worked . It's irrational, but it works. Maybe it's just enough to connect/disconnect the pump.

In other case, my friend soldered something in the pump, he said it was issue of corrosion.

BTW be carefull with factory immobilizer. It's easy undo only for thieves . If you will make it not to recognize it's native key (I've seen that), then you will need to do something with ECU.

I had problems with that evil thing. My car engine donor was S6. Damn thing I need to say. Lot's of time spent trying to disable it . Not to mention reader coils which like to get faulty on the cars this age.

      Immobilizerless AAN at the moment

I had problems when I got the car with the factory immobiliser and after market alarm. They would lock and unlock with/without the fob and/or key to the point of despair ! The problem related to a vacuum hose in tailgate which had come adrift. Do you hear the pump trying to close the locks or have any door failing to lock or doing so slowly ??

Could be related actually. I don't think we checked the central locking controller for fault codes - cleared lots of other old codes around the car though.

Could be related, although I did disconnect the pump at the gargae meet at the weekend.
All doors lock/unlock none of them are lazy.

Going through the spec of my car it didn't originally have the remote central locking specified, hence why the aftermarket effort being fitted.

Will have a deeper investigation at the weekend.

It's out and restored to how she left the factory. Bloody thing!!! 50km of wiring and more black boxes than an African brothel.
Removed the carpet to totally dry it after the original leak, she sounds wonderful, though she who must be obeyed is not too keen on the noise!!!
