It sure does. My guess would be they don't sell as many as there LMZ kits because of output lumens. I've had mine about a year with zero problems.
I think a quality kit is important. I had a cheap hid kit in the past that was nothing but trouble. The LED bulb technology will most likely develop rapidly over the next few years.
LEDs are more efficient, and they don't radiate heat, so you can have your headlamp freezing over in winter, despite them being switched on.
They emit virtually all their heat from the base of the junction, hence the placement of the heatsink. And yes, they will get hot, and yes, they really should be in airflow.
I noticed that my HIDs are 55w Siemens. So I'll test one against the led. If I don't like it I'll use the leds for the high beam which I still use halogen.
Yes. I tried to do some fitting today and my bonnet strut isn't working! So can't keep the bonnet up to do any work+ both kids are sick so it will have to wait.
I will fit them for the high beam directly. My HID kit is 55w and I doubt this 35w leds I bought will be any better
I attempted to fit the H1 bulbs I received today and I have found they are too large to fit throught the H1 bulb apeture! The light output is impressive, but until I can get them to fit they are useless. I have taken some pics so I will upload them when I get chance. You could refit the dust covers with them in place by the look of the dimensions, but they wouldn't have much cooling. Perhaps that would help heat the headlamps and reduce the possibility of the lenses freezing over in cold conditions

I was also looking st this. The bulb was round and had to basically push through a thin slot which is ok for normal H1 bulbs.
I will try and enlarge the hole but can't try for a few weeks.
Would like to see the pics and know if you can mod the apeture to fit them!
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...
Which were the ones you bought? The ones I have are not round. I am hoping they will go through that hole. That has always been the issue with any led bulb I bought in the past... how can they sell something that won't even fit?
I have seen that with someled H3s, the bulb part is way too large to fit through the stock opening. Pitty as the light output is very impressive. Even if I enlarge the opening the bulb is too long and hits the stock urq bulb shiled inside the reflector..

Here's a pic illustrating the difference in size between the bulb holder and the H1 apeture.
I had a spare non elipsoid headlight so widened the apeture for the main beam bulb and got it in. It sits flush in the headlamp and you could refit the rear dust seal if you slot it to allow the power cable to get out. The driver module is seperate, so you couldn't fit this inside the lamp housing too.
Light output is impressive but there is lots of scatter in a non elipsoid reflector. Could be OK for main beam and may be OK in the reflector housing of an elipsoid, however I'd rather not butcher one to find out. I will purchase another set of LED lamps which look to have the standard H1 bulb size. NOTE - The beam is much higher as the headlamp was just sitting on the front cross member. The other headlight is on main and dipped with standard filament bulbs!
