Andy. I already have a butchered ellipsoid lamp. You could sell me these ones to help fund the thinner version. Yours look better led bulbs than the ones i bought....

I think you might annoy oncoming cars with that beam pattern!!

Agreed! However they are in the high beam position, so you shouldn't have them illuminated when there's oncoming traffic

I've been advised by the seller that the cover and round metal cap can be removed to get them to fit. I will try again in the ellipsoids

These are H4 not H1

Yeah I was looking at H4s for my low/hi's

End cap unsrews off the ones I have and then you can slide off the glass surround. They fit without modifications other than removal or cutting of the rear cover. These are 40w 4000lm. Beam pattern looks Ok and I'm sure it will be alright on the road. I'll have to go out and test. The main beams look like candles in comparison. Perhaps the 2000lm's would be OK?

I've located some which appear to mimick the layout of the standard H1 bulb, so hopefully they will offer some improvement in beam pattern. All in all, they don't apear to be half bad.

I'm looking at LED bulbs for our 2006 Octavia, H7 fitment and Canbus compatible please (no errors) What do you guys recommend?

I pulled the led's out of mine. They don't have sufficient intensity to illuminate any distance. They look bright, but the output must be lower than stated. I've stuck the hid's back in for now.
