    UrS6 - Headlight Level Motors - Questions

    One of my headlight motors doesn't work. Can the individual headlight motor be changed easily from a spare set of head lights ?

    Alternatively, can the motor be taken apart and say a copper electrial track be cleaned to make the motor work ?

    The motor in the other head light works, but is very slow moving the head light up / down, what can be done to the motor to make it operate quicker as per the speed of the head motors in my S2 head lights.

    All head lights are still in the cars and so haven't taken anything apart, and so was just wondering if anyone has BTDT already.

    Thanks for any help / pointers / photos.

    165941295 = headlight range control motor used on C4 A100 and A10Q, B3A80, B3 A80 Q, ACA (cabriolet), B3 coupe quattros and RS2.

    4A0941295 = headlight range control motor used on C4 A6 and A6Q, B4 A80Q and S6Plus.

    Not sure if you can mix and match. Probably not.

        Probably (Maybe) both 3 pin connectors. I think the issue is for the C4s is the headlight body changed between the C4 100/S4 and the C4 A6/S6. As such I doubt that you can mount the later motor on the earlier housing without some modifications and vice versa.

          How easy is it to detach the motor from the Headlight housing ?

          Thanks.

            Has anyone any experience of taking the motor itself or photos of the disassembled ?

            Thanks.

              Thanks.

              It's easy - just turn them. They'll start to wobble around once out of the fixation. Next just get the ball at the end of the rod out of the headlight correction leg, usually by pressing it down.

                I think the motor housing is just clipped together.

                The UrS4 motors keep showing up as T4 transporter headlight motors so you might want to search out a T4 forum for a BTDT.

                      oh nice single sided pcb!

                      one of my adjusters in my 200 (slightly different) is toast and I am thinking of removing it and resoldering/repairng/changing the little motor. Looks like piece of cake.
                      What about removal? just twist counter clockwise and pull, right?

                        Able to update sooner than I thought.

                        Have been using the motors frequently over the lat few days and they have both now full 'woken up' and the lights raise and lower the aim of the headlights as I was used to on my S2.

                        Since I'd got the car I haven't had a need to adjust them until now. Previous owner for 18 months probably never had occasion to adjust it either.

                        So just lack of use was the problem.

                        Nice to get such a fix on the car.

                        Thanks for the contributions to the thread.

                        Hope to take a motor apart on a spare B4 headlight just for 'fun' if I ever come across it in the garage.
