Lithium Jump Starter - Any Recommendations?

Has anyone here had any experience or advice regarding using a lithium jump starter, as I am considering buying one to keep in the car for emergencies.

    TIA.

Thanks, Eugen. I see they use LiPO cells. I wonder if it's worth looking out for one with LiFePO4 cells.

          Hi Stu

I have seen the Omega Mechanix IJS6000 in action recently.

It was able to crank over the engine for about 5 seconds then rest for a bit. It did this maybe 4/5 times before it was flat. (Don't know if it was fully charged)

I thought it was a pretty neat bit of kit that could get you out of trouble, say, if you left lights on.

I've just looked at the Drive 13000 on Ebay for just over £100.
It's rated at 80Ah, and call me a sceptic, but I just can't comprehend that something so small can actually have the same Ah capacity as a Lead Acid battery that would be at least 10 times its volume.

I've just looked at the Angry Jester, Sam, and it's rated at 6000Mah (6Ah). I just can't comprehend that this unit can turn over an engine....
To answer your next question- 'No, I havn't seen or used one' , and it seems that in the fullness of time, I'm sure to see one in action, and maybe I should reserve judgement 'til then, but surely I'm not the only one here who can't see how the spec's of these can add up

                Time will tell, eh?

Just one other question- how do you charge these? Surely not through a USB?

I used it on my 80 cab v6.. Starter would just click.. Put the angry jester on which had been used to charge said mates iPhone up for a week and it whizzed round no problem. And as in the next morning as it was dead again.
I doubted it too as its only the size of an external hard drive for a laptop etc but I was shocked lol

Looks like I'm gonna be getting one to live in the Wife's glovebox then
I'm guessing that I'll never need one for Mine, as it's got a solar panel sunroof

I have the Britpart XS Powerpack. It is unreal. First time I used it I'd been in the alps for 10 days, charging my iPhone loads of times. I then had to use it to start the L322 Range Rover TD6 for a completely dead battery. I then went offshore for a fortnight, came back to another flat battery in the Rangie, it started it no problem and only had one of the 5 battery indicators out!

I've since had to use it every day for a week to start the Rangie, without charging in between with no issues.

Until you've had one or seen one, you won't believe it though!

I had a chat with my dad as he has experience with using these at his garage in Shropshire. He has used http://carbatteryhelp.com/my-review-.../#.VrGWliDcuUk he is able to supply these to anyone interested. If you call the garage and speak to bill smith 01939 260702 if you are interested . http://www.churchroadgarage.com/

Indeed. Is not an battery replacement thing. Is just a little extra to allow you to turn the engine and maintain the safe 10V for the electronics..etc... If the battery is completely gone or missing, is not gonna work.
