    Rs2 headlight glass

    Hi all

The headlights in my RS2 need replacing because the tabs are broken

I got a brand new one from Hella which has very clear glass and one for the other side from eBay where the glass is apparently brand new and hasn't been used at all on the road however it's not as 'clear' as the other new part. Still new but just slightly different.

So my question is thus - did the glass front of the light change over time?

And most importantly can I use the matching glass from my tab broken lights currently fitted to make the new units match? Presumably it's removable?

    Cheers

    Headlight glass replacement

Glass is held on to the housing by those spring clips. The tabs on the housing can be repaired (made to work) with Aluminum and epoxy and some skill.

Here is a C4 headlight glass changing DIY that will give you some hints:

Brill thanks for that. It did look like those clips were the secret but the last headlight I bought for a Citroen C6 was a sealed unit and cost an arm and a leg!!

The glass is easy enough to change, take care removing the clips, ONLY leaver under the small tang with a hole in and when reinstalling put the clip over the glass first then pop it over the plastic casing.

Also DO NOT touch the surface of the reflector, the layer of chrome is incredibly thin and comes off with the slightest of provocation. If you want clean them do it using a mild solvent spray or even just hot water in a plant sprayer.

I'm pretty sure Dave will have covered both those points in his guides but thought I'd mention them now...
