today i was looking for noises from inside the driver door on my s2 3b late' 91. I came across in this little black box with 3 connectors behind the central locking actuator

Looks like the heated locks module.

As for the auto closure of windows through the lock, I dont think so. Not with the standard central locking module. Maybe with the C4 module.

        1. In future if you want help identifying a part, try to get the entire part number in the photo. I had to guess what the PN is. Apparently is is 893959981. This is the "electronic control unit for the door handle-lock cylinder, heated". 893959981 was dropped on Jan 31, 1993 and replaced with a 4A0959981. On Dec. 31, 1997 4A0959981 was dropped and replaced by a 4A0959981A.

        2. Only one way to know about the window closure. Get in the car, put the key in the ignition. Turn to RUN and put one or more windows down. Turn Key to OFF and take it out of the ignition. Get out of the car and put the key in the door lock. Hold the key in the lock position and observe what happens.

T16/8 on the central locking control module is the connection to the window control module and it should close the windows. Sometimes the window control module fails and drains the battery. Rather than fix the problem, so people cut the wire between T16/8 and the window control module = you lose the key closing function.
