Just found an old "code flasher"

I must have had this for years and not even known about it, despite moving from the UK to Finland. I can't remember who was originally responsible for such handiwork but I do remember using it with my 3B before I moved onto an A4 and got hold of VCDS.

I haven't been able to read my CQ20v with my old 2 pin to hex adapter and a cheap handheld code reader so I wonder if this old school solution might work? Thing is, I don't know if it will work with just 2 plugs rather than 3 as detailed on the picture. Any thoughts anyone?

    cheers

    The old school tech

As s2central.net and others are down, I found a better place to have this information:
    Here at S2Forum ofcoz!

But I'd rather solve the vcds problems you're facing.

I think the first one (3 wires) is used to run output tests or activate the built-in diagnostic light and the 4 wire (needs that blue plug) is for the blinking codes. Here's some more info
