    Coupe comfort windows

    Morning all

I've just completed retro fitting A6 remote central locking to the coupe
However the comfort windows has me stumped and I just figure out where to connect the wires.
I don't have my diagrams to hand but from the pump we have 3 wires, power and the 2 grounds and I'm assuming I need to get into the window/sunroof relay somewhere and do a bit of surgery.

Anyone have experience of the comfort system?

    Cheers
    Andy

It would help to have a PN for the central locking pump and/or photos. Knowing the year of the A6 you got the pump from would help. Know the year of the coupe also helps.

For an earlier 3 plug/one pump central locking control module, the connection to the window control module is from T16/8:

Not Paul but I have central locking pump knowledge. Need to know the year of the A6 pump and its PN, if possible.

Your window control module might not want to communicate with the central locking pump it if is like this J139:

Likely a 8L0862257G to be specific. That PN is described as "pump with control module for vehicles with radio controlled central locking system for vehicles with anti-theft alarm and immobilizer".

For the wiring you need to download and save this:

              http://12v.org/urs/1997_Audi_A6_Syst...g_Diagrams.pdf

Then go to page 44/48 and look at T10/8 and T12/11.

Then page 10/48. At which point you are going to scream "FUGG!!!!".

Why? Because in 1997 the C4s went to distributed window controls. There is no central window control module in a 97 C4 like you have in your coupe. I think you will need to start over an older central locking pump, e.g from a 96 A6 or older C4, which has the single pump outlet.

This pdf has some of what you would then need:

Pg. 41/53 has the central window control module.

But the Central locking control module diagram 1/2 on pg. 13/53 is corrupted (too small) to be read.

The pump/control module that you have (but I don't think can use fully) should look something like this:

              You want one like this:

              RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan
              94 UrS4 V8 6 spd manual avant

@Dave - is there a list of which C4 pump / controller variants are a good comfort retrofit candidate for the B3 & B4 ?

Anyone got a 1997 - 2000 Cabrio diagrams? They used 8L0 pumps and the same old style window regulators. Might be an answer to this.

The last time I tried to put together a list, it was in this post: (I think all the 8L0 central locking modules are 2 port and might not work with a 1989 CQ):

2 vacuum ports is not a problem - you can either plug one of them or grab some more vacuum tubing and connect it as its meant to be - drivers door and fuel tank flap on smaller port, everything else on larger port.

What is the PN on the window control module? Might be a 443959257B = a 287

Which should be under the dash like this:

If so, I think that the connection to the T16/8 pin on a three connector, single port central locking up is at "10/SK" on the 257B "329" window module.
