MPG on Board Computer with bigger injectors

Hi, i have a long time ago a question about the MPG's on the Board Computer!

If a change the fuelpump and injectors can the Board computer somehow customized so it show real fuel consumption, or has it a standard value for each duty cycle?

    Greetings

It might be possible. But it won't be easy. You can correct the value up to 20% but that's it without fiddeling with the instrument.

Fuelpump won't matter but fuelpressure and injectors play a big part in this equation. When updating a S2 to RS2:ish spec (at least same fuel pressure and inj.) you can use a RS2 chip and custom map from that. That will give you correct readings. Just custom mapping and a S2 chip will screw it all up.

I actually hope I'm wrong here but BTW. I wish there was som good way to get this sorted. BTW - there is a thread about this going on already - I started it.

That instructions is not correct. Follow it if you want - I did and now my board comp is absolutly messed up. Also - the advice about setting the fuelmeter is somewhat simplified. Yes, maybe you want it to show "full" when you think the tank is full... Problem is - that's not the way it was intended.

To sum up - do not follow that insruction. It may be close but it is not the way Audi intended it to be calibrated. I will translate the Audi service bulletin and do a write up when I've gotten a chance to evaluate the VW1301 service tool - hopefully next week.

and the "full when you think it is full".. how was it intended to be?

No not really. I did it all on my S2 but there seems to be something wrong with the fuel guage. So - once I've cleared out that there is nothing wrong with the calibration I'll get back to you.

That page was generated from Audi factory data and my own experience. I probably did try and simplify it, but if there are mistakes then please let me know so I can make corrections.

Please also note - that procedure has NOTHING to do with what happens the fuel usage calculations if you have an S2 trip computer that is communicating with an RS2 ECU. The fuel usage info will be wrong unless you use an RS2 trip computer or have someone like Mihnea tweak the RS2 ECU software to report fuel usage in the way that the S2 trip computer expects.

Bringing up an old thread, has this been sorted? I have not got the trip computer on my Audi 90, but was about to install it, however the car is going for a re-map on the 20th with bigger injectors. I won't bother if I can't get the correct readings. MRC are doing the re-map I will call them tomorrow, unless someone has a previous experiance. Also what ECU pin number is the trip computer wire from?
