    Viper Alarm/Immobiliser Key Fob Programming

    Hi guys,

Long time away from the forum so I hope you're all well

Down to my last key fob (Viper model remote) and have been advised that this is the replacement:

CAS is a leading UK retailer of car audio and vehicle security systems, offering stereos, speakers, dash cams, alarms, and professional installation services to enhance in-car entertainment and safety.

The model number on my receiver is 460XV.

I have no "original documentation" from the aftermarket alarm installation, so I'm missing any appropriate key codes or pins that I may need for re-programming the new key fobs. Another issue is that I'm 300+ miles from my "local dealer" so logistically speaking - it's well out my way to simpy drive down for someone to do for me.

Does anyone have an idea of how I can go about the reprogramming the new key fobs myself and also where the 'vallet switch' would be in my motor?
    Cheers,
    Grant

    Hey guys,

Got the new keyfob programmed - it was very straightforward...

Found the vallet switch under the driver side dash and the procedure (for anyone in the same position) is as follows:

    Open a door
    Turn the ignition on
    Press the vallet switch once
Press and hold the vallet switch (the siren will chirp)
With the vallet switch still pressed, push the lock button on the new key fob.
Release vallet switch, remove key from ignition and close door.
    Cheers,
    Grant

How are you finding the viper?
I have recently thought to either get a newer Clifford or a viper. Not quite sure which way to go..

The current alarm/immobiliser came with the car so I have nothing to compare it against...

It does exactly what it needs to really, immobilises, alarms and remote central locking (from a good distance).

If I were me, fitting an alarm/immobiliser, I'd go for whatever was cheapest but with the same thatchcam rating for your insurance. My replacement key fobs were something like £23 each so not bad.
        Cheers,
        Grant
