    V6 battery tray

    Hi,
Can anyone on here provide some pictures of a V6 battery tray, and in particular, the way it is mounted on the side member?
I will probably need to relocate the battery on my B3 as I need the space for an engine transplant. The V6 bracket would be ideal, since I want to keep boot space and don't really want to weld a tray under the rear seats.
Other good ideas are also welcome.

Best option is to use 80 B3 6A 101kW 16V engine battery tray, should be easiest to install.

B4 ACE 16V / V6 battery tray, it is not direct fit/weld you have to modify it and problaly make some new mounts. Saved this tray for the same reason to put it on my B3 80.
If you want I can take some photos tomorrow from a B4 V6 how it is mounted.

There is not enough space for the V6 tray. You can weld in new mounts but that will move the tray about 5cm in towards the engine. I can try to make some photos this week if you want.

I already have a B4 washer bottle behind the fender, so space is not the issue. (Should have mentioned that in the first post, sorry for that. )
Also have a spare B4 power steering fluid container so i can swap that one in too if needed.
Are those the fitment problems you guys were talking about or is the actual side member different?
Yes I do like to see some pictures!

Some junk is blocking the view, but you should get some idea how it is mounted to the chassis leg.

BTW, is it possible to use V6 engine mounts on a B3 chassis? Otherwise I'll have to weld in the ordinary 90/B4 mounts...

Thanks for the pics! I guess I can conclude that it will fit, given that the original washer bottle is removed, and perhaps some weld-nuts are missing in the chassis.

V6 mounts are bolted to the chassis leg with three long bolts from wheel arch. Chassis legs have 3 pipes welded through them for bolts. V6 mounts are ridicously expensive, OEM mount was 200-300€

So I'll have to weld anyways. Not that I'm afraid of that, but the car inspectors might be.
Lets see if I can dig up some 90 brackets somewhere.
