    Fuel pump replacement

    Hey guys!

After running the engine for more than 5 minutes, i heard noices from the back of the car. I quickly realized that it came from underneath the floor behind the backseats. My only guess was the fuel pump, so i demounted the plate ontop of the tank and could hear the pump was screaming.

My question is, how much is the fuel pump rated for in HP? And what replacement upgrade pumps are available that can drop right in instead of rebuilding the whole thing?

The current one on the car is a bosch with the Audi number 8A0906091A. Whats funny is that it should have been a 091G instead of A according to Audi.

Can't help you directly, but just wanted to say that while a Bosch 044 motorsport pump is what a lot of people fit when their standard oem fuel pump goes faulty, the 044 pump is noisy in operation.

You can't really hear the oem one, but you can hear the 044 one when stopped at traffic lights and the radio switched off with an oem exhaust. And you can certainly hear it in the summer when you have the driver's ( rhd ) window open while stop starting in traffic.

Just sayin........... so people know before they fit one.

Walbro I think might be an alterantive to a failed oem pump, but I wouldn't know which model.

          Deatschwerks DW300

Runs silent and flows similar to the Bosch 044 and comparible Walbro pumps.

Also, the part number for the existing fuel pump is correct. The A and G at the end of the PN references a revision. A being the first version, and G being the 7th. X is re-manufactured.

          Hope this helps.
