N-reg 80 estate tdi...........locks and unlocks(starts as well!) with key but indicators/4-way flashers blink for 30 seconds........and then use something electrical and they blink for another 30 seconds......and another....you get the idea.
Without actually going on a fault finding mission.....is there just a wire I can snip?!
Your have to do a little fault finding fella. First place to go would be the flasher unit. Then find the wire coming from alarm unit and remove it. Keep a note of that wire and where it went just incase you have to replace it. Try replacing the flasher relay first maybe something odd inside that unit. Alarms are more of a pain, no one ever takes any notice of them anyway. Just a flashing l, e, d works better or remove a part ie fuel pump relay is a good one. Anyway good luck. Hope this helps you regards Lynn.

Thanks, I was thinking I'll be reinstating original wiring. Think because of it's age this car will have factory alarm but it seems to have had a Laserline installed as well.....fun and games ahead!!
Cheers for the reply.
John.
Sorted. Unplugged aftermarket box and everything else still working.
