You use that same linked vag tacho cable and software to read pin from "new" cluster.
Also you need vag com / vcds to read coding info from old cluster and later use that info to code "new" cluster.Leave a comment:

Seach for vagtacho on eBay. On the older Audis the security pin followed the original keys (small label).

The instruction on how to pair up the new cluster is found here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...r_Generation_2Last edited by Dynasty; 7 June 2017, 14:43.Leave a comment:

Ecu waits for a OK signal from immo (cluster), if you take immo and ecu from donor, then you need keys also (immo chip from fob) from the donor car.
If you are soldering stuff already, then it is easier to make immo off from ecu.
Ask help from somebody who has vag tacho and vcds cable and can use them.Leave a comment:

Hi,HI guys
Sorry its not a S2 but it is a S4 b5
I need to swap my clocks over, I have a replacement set that's all working unlike mine
Now in the S4 the clocks are programed to the car and it will not run with the replacement fitted
Can anyone help with this

Thanks guys
if you can still get access to the orignal ecu (from the car the cluster came from, you can either swap out the ecu, or just desolder the immo chip from the matching ecu and solder into yours. Done it several times on ecu swaps..Leave a comment:

You need vag tacho or similar to read PIN from old and new cluster. After you have pin codes, then you can adapt with vag com / vcds.Leave a comment:

I expect you can recode with a vagcom. Probably worth checking in the Ross tech wikiLeave a comment:
