Blacked Out Headlights

Thought I'd try the blacked out headlights - you can't mask the reflectors as it peels so you have to paint it with a brush.

I'm not sure if I like the indicator - maybe need to get a cone silver reflector stuck in and paint the rest black for that.

And, yes, the glass has been sandblasted - chasing too many cars on gritted roads

Should look good, Doug. I did the same on my old type 85 and it completely altered the look of the car. Very subtle but effective.

wish someone had told me about the chrome finish coming off with masking tape.....

when I tried to 'touch up' some of the reflector a while back, I ended up taking more off with the tape than I'd been trying to fix.

I have only done the one - I wanted to see what it looked like first - I'll do the other one, put them back on and take some pics.

Dont think I will try that on my earlier headlamps. Whole reflector is silver. Wouldn't work very well if I painted the lot black LOL
