  • Autocheck always retires..

    Hi all!

When I start autocheck works. I get the brake light warning, and the 'speed warning' does allright. After a short time, autocheck is off and doesn't react on setting a new speed. All other instruments (esp fuel gauge) are reading ok.

Yes right, the speed thing is not the problem -
but I suspect that any serious warning will happen!?

Oh, sorry, it's a '93 Avant S2. And I think had the same on my ex '93 Avant 2.3E
Has anybody seen something like this?

    All hints are welcome,
    Stephan

    P.S.
I'm new to this list and I read some posts that you guys have problems with shipping parts from ebay. I'm from Germany, Cologne, when you need a shipping address or something in Germany, PM me, it may be possible...

It's quite common that t89/b4 instrument cluster solderings are not too good. Even the PCB lines may be cracked.

I'd say take it apart. Resolder everything even if it looks ok. Inspect visually PCB lines.

It can also be a bit simplier problem. The AC/computer unit gets its power from the PCB pins that enter the AC unit. Might just be a bad contact in these.
