  • fuel gauge

I have just bought a S2 Avant it has had a new sender unit added but the fuel gauge has packed up when you turn on the ignition the fuel gauge doesn't move. Can someone help me?

I know there is an article on recalibration on S2Central.
Maybe the new sender has been fitted incorrectly and is sticking, as it is only a floted ball valve,IIRC. Or maybe the gauge or wiring is faulty

I would say cehck to make sure the electrical plug is on tight at the sender, and also is the temp. gauge workig ok? as botht hte temp gauge and fuel gauge are both fed power by one single voltage stabiliser on teh back of the dash, if both gauges do not work, then that is what it is. Check basics first.

The temp gauge is working & the electrical plug on the sender is on tight!

could it be the fuel gauge itself if so can you buy new ones?
